Import equipment from Excel
Bring in an existing list, and see what each row becomes before anything is saved.
- Go to Equipment and press Import.
- Choose your Excel file (.xlsx) or CSV file and press Read the file. Only the first sheet is read.
- Check what each column contains. Lendilo guesses, and you can change it. The name is the only column you must have.
- Look through the preview. It shows which rows will be imported and which are skipped, and why.
- Press the import button at the bottom. Nothing is saved before that.
What the file should look like
Use one row for each thing. The columns can be called anything. A row with a quantity above 1 becomes Several identical, and other rows become individual items. On the import page you can download an empty template.
Good to know
- Tick Skip equipment that is already there if you import the same file again. It compares the name and ID number.
- Imported equipment is lent out by admins only. You switch on self-service per item afterwards.
- The old Excel format (.xls) can’t be read. Save the file as .xlsx or CSV first.
